Meet Gabe McFarland
"I believe that nothing is more important than family and that thoughtful estate planning is the ultimate gift to your loved ones."
For over three decades, Gabe McFarland has worked tirelessly to develop the unique skills necessary to help people in three distinct areas: estate planning, probate/trust administration, and litigation. He has been litigating cases in Colorado state and federal courts since 1995 and combines that experience with a passion for estate planning. Since 2012, Gabe has been named to Colorado’s “Super Lawyers,” which recognizes the top five percent of attorneys in the state. He has also earned Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent Rating, and AVVO’s Superb Attorney rating, the highest ratings possible.
Gabe was born in mid-Michigan but has spent most of his life in Colorado. He was raised to value hard work, honesty, family, and community, which has shaped his approach to life and law. Gabe is a 1995 graduate of the University of Denver, College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1992, graduating magna cum laude.
Gabe began his legal career in Denver at Hopper & Kanouff, PC. He then spent six years at the international law firm of McKenna & Cuneo, LLP, where he managed all phases of a sophisticated commercial litigation practice, including the prosecution of a $25 million claim against the United States government. He joined Bieging, Shapiro, & Burrus, LLP, in 2001 as a partner. In 2003, Gabe formed his own his own firm in Golden, Colorado – Evans & McFarland, LLC. Today, Gabe provides high-level strategic guidance and supervision on complex commercial litigation and personal injury cases through a skilled group of litigators at the same firm in the same office in Golden, although the firm is now known as McFarland Litigation Partners, LLC.
About 10 years ago, Gabe was introduced to probate and trust administration, and related estate planning concepts, through his litigation practice. He found his true passion. Gabe loves guiding individuals and couples through crucial life decisions because it requires an intricate blend of legal expertise and personal connection. Gabe is dedicated to helping good, hard-working people transfer their wealth to their loved ones on their terms.
When not working, Gabe enjoys spending time with his wife, chasing after their three adult children and four dogs, skiing, surfing, trying to be a cowboy, and otherwise enjoying the beautiful Colorado outdoors.
